Firstdrill Ltd is a truly independent global drilling project management company with proven international expertise. Founded in 1996 by Peter Redman, an experienced drilling engineer who started his career at BP in 1956, and based in the United Kingdom, the Company has provided international and domestic project management, well engineering and operational logistics to some of the World’s leading oil and gas exploration companies. The Company’s management team and in-house technical teams have more years of experience than any other company in its field across the entire range of global project management and engineering services for the industry.

Firstdrill aims to be a leading global oil and gas service company and to build upon our international experience to be the service company of choice across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and South Asia.

Operations and Technology

Firstdrill has dedicated skilled in-house technical expertise, allowing senior-level service and continuity of contact throughout a project. Oil and gas operators can reduce their expenditure by having the benefit of Firstdrill’s experience in drilling project management, either for drilling engineering and supervision or complete management of the project. The reduction of risk and cost is Firstdrill’s business. Firstdrill engineering and drilling project management teams are mobile and can react fast, with support from their base in the United Kingdom.

Firstdrill is fully committed to meeting its client needs with a strong record of client cost-savings and on-time and on-cost delivery at the highest standard of health, safety and environmental control. Firstdrill has been operating onshore and offshore, including deepwater drilling rigs, and provides drilling services to many reputed Exploration and Production Companies. The Company has proven its global expertise through successful project management throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa, South Asia and beyond.

In 2008 its order book included projects in the Bay of Bengal, offshore Vietnam and the deepwaters off Namibia. Firstdrill’s client list reads like the great and the good of the oil and gas industry, with contract wins with supermajors BP, TotalFinaElf, Shell and ConocoPhillips as well as leading independents Cairn Energy and Devon Energy.
