Conference Report 1: Victoria Oil & Gas, MEC Resources And Matra Petroleum Open Proceedings At Oilbarrel.com’s 30th Event

Over 350 people registered for the 30th oilbarrel.com conference in the City of London, a sure sign that this event is now the place to be for those in the know in the junior oil cap sector. Oilbarrel.com conferences provide a platform for small E&Ps to tell their story, connect with investors and network with industry movers and shakers. Anecdotally, we know of job promotions, project farm-ins, corporate finance opportunities and new company creations that have been seeded on the sidelines of oilbarrel.com events. Little wonder our forward events for 2010 are already getting booked up.

The 30th oilbarrel.com event brought together a good cross section of the industry, from an exploration start-up focused on East Africa (Cove Energy) to a CBM pioneer in China (Green Dragon Gas) to a Canadian company hoping to drill in our own backyard of Nottinghamshire (Newton Energy).  There was something for all investor tastes, from frontier wildcatting in the virgin waters off New South Wales in Australia (MEC Resources) to low-risk onshore appraisal drilling in Russia (Matra...
