Leed Petroleum Makes An Encouraging start To Its 2010 Drilling Campaign

When we last reported on Leed Petroleum, we made the point that after a difficult year in 2009 the company was in effect starting anew with its drilling effort.

The company is focused on the Gulf of Mexico region where it has established a portfolio of producing and development assets. The company has interests in 16 offshore blocks and 1 onshore field in the region.

Concentrating on shallow water, lower-risk prospects Leed is not dissimilar to what we have seen in the North Sea with companies like Paladin (as was) and Venture Production (as was) able to capitalise on the majors tendency to abandon what they deemed to be marginal fields and go looking...
