Chariot Oil and Gas Limited (AIM: CHAR) is an independent oil and gas exploration company with interests in Namibia.

Chariot has highly prospective licences in Namibia – strategically positioned within the South Atlantic Margins (counterpart margin to that of Brazil where major discoveries have been announced). All of these blocks are in the exploration phase and seismic programmes have been completed across all of Chariot’s eight offshore blocks. Chariot received early stage third party endorsement of Namibia's prospectivity and potential following a farm-out to Petrobras in May 2009.

Key highlights:

Licences include eight offshore Namibia blocks covering 5,481 sq km in the South Orange Basin: These are Northern Blocks 1811 A & B, Blocks 2312 A&B and 2412 A&B ( the Central Blocks) and Block 2714B ( which together ( which together Block 2714A comprise the Southern Blocks)
Licences of strategic interest:
- In counterpart margin to highly prospective province offshore Brazil
- South of prolific basins offshore Angola
- Applying same suite of analysis tools used to help identify potential petroleum systems in the pre-salt, deepwater offshore Brazil
Deep water exploration - underexplored with only 3 wells drilled to date in water depths greater than 500m
One prospect and 22 leads in Chariot's concession areas established to date.
Farm-out agreed with Petrobras on one of eight exploration blocks, 2714A, offshore southern Namibia
Completion of a 600 3D seismic programme of 600 km2 in December 2009 means all outstanding work commitments across the eight blocks have been met.. This in turn means Chariot has been able to extend licence terms and was able to set up data rooms early in 2010 to seek further farm-ins.
